Stephanie Santos, KPA CTP

Training Director

After spending many years as a volunteer and foster guardian at her local animal shelter, Stephanie has gained vast experience handling dogs of all sizes, ages, temperaments and breeds. She developed an interest in the study of behavior very early on, earning her BA in Psychology from Boston University. After observing fearful, stressed and reactive dog behavior in a shelter environment, her interest in behavior evolved into a passion for canine behavior. In 2010 she became a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers, and in January of 2012 she graduated from the Karen Pryor Academy of Animal Training and Behavior as a Certified Training Partner (KPA CTP). She is committed to a life-long practice of science-based, humane animal training and the study of animal behavior.

Stephanie is honored to join the amazing team at TLCAD and be a part of the prison training program, where she will have the incredible opportunity to share positive reinforcement training techniques with prison inmates and their TLCAD service dogs in training. She is equally excited to utilize her shelter background, as she searches for future Tender Loving Canines Assistance Dogs in Southern California’s local shelters and rescues
